With over 300 artifacts coming from the Museo Egizio of Turin in Italy, this is one of the most important Egyptians collections in the world, and is now on display exclusively in Montreal.
Covering three thousand years of history from the origin of the pharaohs to the Roman period, this exhibition offers a real portrait and human face for this multi-millennia society and its history. Ancient Egypt was a strongly hierarchical society with the majestic River Nile as the backbone of the country.
With objects from ancient fishermen, artisans and farmers, scribes, priests and pharaohs, learn about the organization of the Egyptians, their society and power. You can also find out about the central role of the common people in the emergence of this remarkable civilization. Working tools, daily objects and jewellery as well as sculptures, monumental statues, sarcophagi, stelae and mummies can be seen on display, from an immersive journey along the Nile, which is both grandiose and poetic.
This exhibition is being produced by Pointe-à-Callière with the collaboration of the Museo Egizio of Turin, Italy.
